Digital Satellite Splitter

I received a different model splitter, but one that stated that it was a digital satellite splitter. However, it did not work. I set it up off the main feed, but nothing happen for the 2nd tv site. The feed continued to work for the tv in the living room. I have bought the Directtv box thru Amazon.com as well as a few other items trying to make the 2nd tv work, but no luck. I finally called DirectTV service to try and activate the 2nd box tv and told them I was trying to use the splitter, but they stated that it would not work. That I would have to have a separate line feed to the back of the TV. I know this is not absolute true. Oh, and DirectTV wants the box I bought from Amazon if I terminate with them. I told them they didn"t pay me a dime to buy it and they would not get my box UNLESS they were buying it from me. I guess they thought I was suppose to just roll over and play dumb. Just a year left with them.
