MyGica Digital TV Tuner/Receiver for Smartphones & Tablets Running Android 4.2 or Above - Picks up LOCAL TV Stations for Free! - No Data Plan Required
Let me start by saying, I suspect that if I had a top end phone or tablet, I would probably give this 5 stars!
I have a low end phone (Photon q) and tablet, both cost well under $50 each. Both are android 4.4.
Problems (most likely due to my cheap phones, not this product)
While watching HD channels, the sound/picture lose synch every 10 seconds, then snap back. This is likely due to my low processor power (1080p needs 4 times the processor as 480) Low def channels come in perfectly and record perfectly. That said, picture and sound are good.
The file saved by the recorder (.ts) was not readable. I had to download another 3rd party app to play it on the phone.
It eats batteries, hard. This is to be expected. It is almost as bad a battery hog as watching YouTube over 3G.
The antenna is tiny, which is great for portability, but it only picks up half the channels. This is NOT their fault, I live in the boondocks.
